The US Department of State has reacted regarding the arrest of Fredi Beleri, candidate of Berisha e Meta for the municipality of Himara.

The reaction of DASH was made to the Greek media, as it was answered to the Greek correspondents in Washington. In Greek media it is said that a representative of the US State Department asked to ensure the validity of the elections, calling on all parties to respect the laws and regulations.

In particular, the representative of the State Department told the Greek media.

"We have repeatedly asked the authorities and political parties to ensure that voters can exercise their basic democratic right to express their will through free and fair elections. It is important that everyone respects the laws and rules governing elections, as well as international rules, including the ban on buying or selling votes. We call on the authorities to apply all laws and regulations fairly and equitably. Officials of the American embassy are joining other international institutions to monitor the elections throughout the country", says the reaction of DASH.
