The next day, December 9, at 12:00, a court session is expected to take place in the Court of Tirana, where a security measure will be assigned to 31-year-old Gert Shehu, who punched former Prime Minister Sali Berisha in front of the December 6.

Sources indicate that the prosecutor's office has asked the court to grant the measure "prison arrest" for the 31-year-old. Also, the authorities are waiting for the laboratory analyzes of the Institute of Forensic Medicine, which will conclude whether Gerti Shehu was under the influence of narcotics at the time he shot Berisha with a stone.

The prosecutor's office continues the investigations and has seized the security camera footage of the last 3 days of the places where the 31-year-old was, including the itinerary he followed on the day of the attack.

Gert Shehu has a previous criminal record. He has been arrested for cannabis, serious injury and disturbance of public peace.
