The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana will request the measure of arrest and imprisonment for Gerti Shehu, who punched the president of the DP, Sali Berisha. The 31-year-old's file has arrived at the Tirana court and it is expected that a hearing will be held regarding the measure of his arrest.

Gerti Shehu is currently in the Trauma hospital where he is being treated after the blows he received from Berisha's supporters after he committed the violent act. If the doctors do not give permission to leave the hospital, then the security measure will be communicated to the hospital premises.

Gerti Shehu is accused of assault due to duty and intentional injury. So far he has refused to talk about the reasons that led to this action. Gerti Shehu is expected to undergo a medical examination because his family members claim that he suffers from mental health problems.
