Russia-Ukraine ceasefire talks

The first round of ceasefire negotiations between the delegations of Ukraine and Russia has concluded this Monday in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry, in a brief statement, described today's efforts to find peace as "not so bad," while announcing that the delegations have left for lunch and will return for talks later today.

On the other hand, the representative of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that the Russians are "too selective" in their demands. He added, however, that great progress has been made on the humanitarian front and the exchange of prisoners of war.

The Ukrainian representative said that the Russian delegation requested that the Americans not be present at the negotiating table, asking "what do they have to hide?"
