An unusual event occurred this evening on "Butrinti" street in Saranda, where a police chase ended in the waters of the Ionian Sea.

A luxury Porsche Panamera vehicle was stopped by police forces, with three people inside.

But at the moment of the stop, one of the passengers ran off and jumped into the sea to escape pursuit. He was carrying a bag on his arm, raising suspicions of carrying illegal items, which it is thought he may have thrown into the sea during his escape.

The other two people were immediately detained by the "Eagle" forces and escorted to the police station. Meanwhile, dozens of police forces were stationed along the promenade, keeping an eye on the swimmer who was trying to escape.

A few minutes later, the border police boat arrived at the scene, which made it possible to capture the suspect at sea.

He was taken out to the promenade and escorted to the police station by the "Eagle" forces.
