Residents of Rrjoll in protest

The residents of Rrjoll have once again come out to protest against the construction of the resort that is being built on the lands that they claim are being taken from them unjustly. For six weeks now, they have been continuing their battle, seeking justice, and have also protested in Tirana, in front of the parliament and SPAK, which they are demanding to take charge of the file.

They accuse the officers of having committed acts of violence against them, while some of the residents have been escorted to the police station. Despite the situation, the residents are determined to continue the protests every day until the works for the resort, which, according to them, violate the properties and environment of the area, are stopped.

"You criminals, the crime police. Thieves. Do you have any shame or not," some of the protesters are heard saying as they clash with the police.

One of the residents, in a statement to the media, claimed that some of the boys who were present were raped in the police van. She demanded that the matter be taken over by SPAK, while she also pointed the finger at the Shkodra Prosecutor's Office, which she accused of sleeping on their file.

 "The blue uniforms have been unjust, they have caught the boys and put them in a van and raped them. There is no right to rape them. They have thrown them away like a piggy bank. We will continue the protest until the end. This land must be returned to the Rrjollors. Not one of the people who thinks they can take this land should sleep peacefully because they will not enjoy it. We hope that SPAK will take the matter into its own hands, that the Shkodra Prosecutor's Office will not sleep on our file, but will provide justice. The forgeries are in the office, we are protecting our property, we are being mistreated in our property. The police and the state must come out for the citizens. The Shkodra Prosecutor's Office should investigate the file as soon as possible, do not allow things to get worse in this country. We have been attacked by the police and Fatmir Shpeza's people. The Shkodra Prosecutor's Office will be the first responsible institution if the slightest thing happens in Rrjoll.", she said.
