The senior leader of the police, Gjergji Jorgo, has passed away. The news was announced by the Association of Police Employees in Lirim, which expresses its condolences to the family members of the policeman.

Gjergji Jorgo has climbed the career ladder from First Captain, Major, Colonel, Commissar, Leader to the rank of First Leader.

"The national news about the sudden and premature separation of the First Director Gjergji Jorgo is shocking.

Our colleague and friend served the State Police with devotion and professionalism from 1991 without interruption until 2013 when he was unjustly removed from office.

Gjergji has moved up the ladder of his police career through his performance gradually from First Captain, Major, Colonel, Commissioner, Leader to the rank of First Leader. With various positions as the most important: Inspector, Head of the Police Station, Deputy Director up to the Director of the Korçë District Police.

Today we lost a model citizen, colleague, friend, professional and family member.

We express our deepest condolences to his wife Juli, daughter Elona and son Gerti. Condolences to all his relatives and friends.
