In the streets of Ballshi, apart from the smell of oil, the impossibility to deal with the legal offices that have the pockets of thousands of citizens who have taken loans from microfinance institutions and then have not had the opportunity to pay them off has plagued them. The lady who prefers to remain anonymous tells her case for ZÜRI.

Embarrassed by CLO Legal Solution asking her to repay four times the value that was financed, she says she sees no other way out but to report this to the media.

Excerpt from the interview:

Drilina Xheladini: I got a loan twice, once for 500,000 ALL, I paid for one month, then I went to borrow again. The first time I received 500 thousand ALL for 48 months. I was paying 96,000 ALL per month. I got them the first time in August 2023 and the second time I got them in September 2023. With the loan I got the second time, it was all paid off. In order to pay off the first one, I applied for 1 million Lek, I received 700 Lek. When I got the second one, I paid for September, October, November and December, in January I had no option, I didn't pay for either January or February. Then they took me on the phone and told me it went through the court process, two months late. I paid 150,000 ALL on February 27 and yesterday they called me again and told me that you have to pay the whole amount or it will go to court.

Both times there was no contract, the lady applied online, through the application and appeared at one of the Western Union points, more specifically at the one located in the Univers Shopping Center in Fier and received the money. However, today she does not have any document in her hand that proves that she is a debtor, except for an invoice that she paid in February, which she made available to us.

Excerpt from the interview:

Drilina Xheladini: I applied from the phone, from the application, they asked me where you work, do you have insurance, these things, in the application I had, they told me, your loan was approved. Then a girl answered me on the phone and told me to go to the Albanian Post or Western Union and pick it up. I received them in the afternoon, I received them from the Western Union located at the QTU in Fier.

Florida Mingla: For the online contract, they didn't tell you that you can withdraw it?

Drilina Xheladini: No, they didn't tell me

Florida Mingla: Both times you have been funded through the online application, you do not have a document proving that we have received this money.

Drilina Xheladini: No, I don't have any kind of document and I haven't signed anywhere. Only the ID card details have been received and I have also taken a photo of the card. Nothing else.

Florida Mingla: Currently, what documents do you have that prove that you have paid back several months of the loans you have taken.

Drilina Xheladini: I only had them in the application, now they have closed the application as well, I no longer have them.

The lady tells us that the people who receive it from CLO Legal Solution do not introduce themselves by name and surname, but only apply pressure to get the money they ask for. The sentence "you will go to trial" has become a refrain in the ears of this lady. Initially, CLO Legal Solution requested 3 million 700 thousand ALL, the next day they told me to pay 4 million 800 thousand ALL. How does the intraday amount change by such a large margin?

Florida Mingla: The people who are currently contacting you saying that the file may go to court, which law firm or office do they say they are taking you from.

Drilina Xheladini: CLO says, that's all, we are from the CLO legal office. That's it.

Florida Mingla: The identity of the people who take you?

Drilina Xheladini: No, no name, no last name, nothing.

Florida Mingla: What about physically, they asked you to go and meet them?

Drilina Xheladini: No, no they didn't ask me.

Florida Mingla: How have you been told to proceed from now on?

Drilina Xheladini: You have to pay them. All at once.

Florida Mingla: How will you act?

Drilina Xheladini: I don't know. To pay the whole thing they told me that I have to pay 3 million 700 thousand ALL, the next day they told me to pay 4 million 800 thousand ALL. Because they told me that your name was confused with another one. I don't have to pay him that much money. There is no way that with the 400,000 lek that I receive, I cannot pay them because I have two children.

Who are these people who have the courage to call every citizen and ask for the money they consider reasonable, based on laws that only they know, but who don't even have the courage to introduce themselves?
