A few days ago, Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that the first artificial intelligence minister, Diella, was "pregnant" and expecting 83 "children."
The statement, although serious, caused laughter and went viral on social media, where there was no shortage of criticism due to its dystopian tone.
In fact, what Rama meant was that after Diella, the government plans to create 83 artificial intelligence assistants that will be assigned to each socialist MP.
However, the pregnant Sun is not feeling well today. This is because the platform that allows the Sun to exist has encountered problems, occasionally going out of order.
For those who don't know, Diella is powered by "Azure", Microsoft's virtual servers, or what is called "cloud computing".
"We are taking two simultaneous actions where we are blocking all changes to AFD services and at the same time reverting to our last known state," Microsoft announced during today's technical issues.
This means that the Sun will undergo a "reset", which may also cause partial memory loss from the last recorded point, known as the "restore point".
But the fact that Diella's "brain" is inside Microsoft's servers, in a way, makes her the first minister with artificial intelligence in Albania, but not Albanian.
The brain, or what is technically called the "back end" - the part where Diella performs calculations, where data is stored and all the behind-the-scenes stuff inaccessible to the user - is powered by Microsoft, which has also raised concerns among technology experts about privacy, data access by third parties, and its alteration or manipulation by other actors.
