The Albanian flag created with origami is expected to be confirmed by Guinness as the world's largest ever created.

Arbnora Fejza-Idrizi from Kosovo has given Albania a gift on Independence Day. She has created the Flag of Albania 1300 square meters, with 120 thousand pieces of paper, 1 million and 200 thousand folds of paper, where each paper has 10 folds of its own.

Arbnore Fejza-Idrizi told Anadolu Agency that she made the flag of 120,000 origami papers, each in a pyramid shape, with the help of 70 students from the "Alauddin" madrasa, who folded about 50,000 papers in a pyramid shape, while she made the rest she did it herself and with the help of some of her family members.

"It has been a very difficult job, since this time I have chosen a more difficult method of work. The part of the paper was pyramidal, where ten folds were needed for each paper", emphasizes Fejza-Idrizi, who says that for the whole work it took 1 month to start with the preparations with the folding of the paper and it is one of the most difficult projects that he also completed the project that took him the most time, where it took a total of four days of work to complete the project.

"The work lasted from 10 o'clock to 6 o'clock in the evening, where we also did the complete alignment of the mosaic. This mosaic is bigger than the previous mosaic", she emphasizes.

The biggest difficulty was when they made the first measurements to make the eagle and to combine the measures, but apart from these, the work went as planned.

"I did the work of the eagle myself with 2-3 people because I was afraid of you, I trust the work to others since it required a lot of care. While on the final night with all the staff, we completed all the work", says Fejza-Idrizi.

The flag will remain until November 29 in a sports hall in Skenderaj, where Fejza-Idrizi says that she felt the greatest emotions when she finished her work and climbed over the gym and "I saw that everything is perfect as it should be life. For years I have wanted to do something for Albania".

"This is probably the project I worked on the most with love, since we grew up with this flag. Seeing the sacrifices of our people over the years, over the centuries and over the decades that they have given a lot for this flag, I am very proud that I have managed to do something for my country to present it beyond the borders and at the same time be certified as a world record. Even during the work process, I was full of emotions and very happy", she emphasized.

The art of origami was born in Japan, while in terms of meaning, "ori" means folding and "gami" means paper. The aim of this art is to transform a flat square sheet of paper into a finished sculpture through its folding techniques. Modern origami practitioners generally avoid using paper cutouts, glues, or markings.
