" We will not leave Klodiana Vefa's children alone ," said the mayor of Castelfiorentino, Alessio Falorni, with emotion.
On the evening of September 29, the mayor, who knew Klodiana Vefa personally, organized a march and lit candles in commemoration of the 37-year-old Albanian. This march is also against the phenomenon of violence against women.
Together with the mayor were the children of Klodiana and Alfred, 17 and 14 years old, who opened the procession, which was attended by hundreds of people, together with their aunt and uncle.
The torchlight procession was attended by the mayors of Empolese Vadelsa, who after the severe episode of violence decided to take part in the procession to stay close to the community of Castelfiorentino.
Many family members, many young people and children were present! The silence was broken only by footsteps on the asphalt, from crying. Hundreds of people took part in the march in the center of the city.
At the end of the torchlight procession, Clodiana's children placed a bouquet of 37 white roses on the red bench, symbol of violence against women, in Piazza Gramsci.
After learning that the man killed himself with a firearm, Falorni said: "It is the tragic epilogue of this terrible story. I remember yesterday evening, for which I thank everyone, the institutions and citizens present, and the hug that the community of Castelfiorentino was able to give to the children and family of Clodiana".
