'Freedom has a name', today's protest in Tirana for former KLA leaders held in The Hague

Today Tirana will echo with calls for justice for the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, who are being tried in The Hague on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity. The nationwide protest will take place at 5:00 PM, in Skanderbeg Square.

The chairman of OVL-UCK, Hysni Gucati, said in a press conference on October 14 that former Albanian president Alfred Moisiu and the chairman of DUI, Ali Ahmeti, will speak at this rally. He also emphasized that 60 buses will depart from Kosovo to Tirana.

Meanwhile, the leader of the SP group, Taulant Balla, is also expected to participate, and has also stated that the majority MPs will support this protest and are expected to be part of it.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy announced today that the National Highway will be free of charge for 24 hours.

The Democratic Party of Albania has declared that it will not participate in the rally. The only one who has stepped out of line with Sali Berisha was Fatmir Mediu, who said in yesterday's plenary session that he will be present at the protest.

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has also come out in support of the protest. In a press conference, Osmani stressed that the Kosovo Liberation Army's war was just.
