Aldo alias Elidon Avdyli, the 37-year-old Shijakas, well-known in the criminal world and the State Police, was caught unawares in an apartment rented by Dorjan Sherifi.
He had chosen to settle in this apartment very close to a casino located at "Liqeni i Thate", and criminal police information indicates that Avdyli had managed to take shelter in that area with the aim of creating a base, to then create the conditions for committing a murder.
But a police agent had tracked his movements, also due to a tactical blunder that Aldo Avdyli himself had made at the beginning of October 2025.
Classified information obtained by journalist Elton Qyno indicates that Aldo Avdyli threatened the deputy director of the Durrës police, citizen Bujar Deliallis, over the phone. The threat is said to have been made during the period when SPAK had issued arrest warrants and the criminal police had conducted searches in Shijak and several apartments with the aim of capturing Avdyli.
We recall that this was the second security measure "Arrest in prison" against the 37-year-old, who is now accused of organizing and financing Edmir Koç alias Maloku in 2021 in Durrës.
While the first measure "Arrest with imprisonment" against Avdyl was imposed in May 2024, declaring him wanted by the SPAK Special Prosecution Office.
This is because during an investigation of file No. 59, the court had imposed the security measure "prison arrest" on him for the charge of "providing the conditions to commit the murder" of a well-known name in the criminal world, Durim Bami.
According to the investigation, Avdyli appears to be involved in a team of more than 16 people, who provide the means and plan the physical elimination of Durim Bami, but are unable to actually carry it out.
Under pressure from the second security measure, Avdyli is said to have settled in Tirana. But while he was in hiding, he threatened the deputy director of the Durrës police by phone, which led to the greatest concentration of police forces and equipment to capture him.
To locate Aldo Avdyl, the criminal police used the "IMSI Catcher" interception device, an Israeli electric machine, which is capable of intercepting and locating dozens of numbers at once.
It was precisely through this device that the location of the number used by Aldo Avdyli was located and then his exact position was determined.
The most wanted man by SPAK and the State Police was discovered to be positioned in an apartment very close to a casino located at "Liqeni i Thatë" in Tirana.
From the data intercepted through the "IMSI Catcher" device, the police have formed the belief that he was stationed in that area to carry out another murder, but without knowing who the target might be.
By following and analyzing the flow of intercepted conversations, Tirana police have decided to intervene to arrest him, preventing the possibility of committing another criminal event.
On the morning of three days ago, numerous operational teams and those from RENEA surrounded the area, trapping Aldo Avdyl.
The latter, although armed, was unable to do anything, surrendering completely and unconditionally to the police forces.
Aldo Avdyli was quickly transported to the Tirana police station, where he was questioned in front of several police officers.
Journalist Qyno has learned that Aldo Avdyli has been questioned about the murder of Bujar Nasufi, who was executed on the evening of January 21, 2025 in front of his wife.
The police suspected that Avdyli may have been paid by the brothers Jurgen and Voltan Xhani, but these suspicions were dismissed when Aldo Avdyli did not admit for a moment to having participated in this murder, briefly stating that: "...what I know about this event I have heard and seen on television...".
The second event, for which Avdyli was questioned, is the murder of Iljaz Çali, an event that occurred on April 3, 2022 on the Tirana-Durrës highway.
Even regarding this event, Avdyli maintained a denialist stance, continuing to say: "...what I know about this event I have heard and seen on television...".
Despite Aldo Avdyl's denial of both events, the police have asked him to take a DNA sample in order to verify his DNA profiles with DNA found at several crime scenes.
Avdyli did not hesitate and provided the DNA profile. After this procedure, the 37-year-old was taken out of the Tirana police premises, being taken under the two security measures of "prison arrest" imposed by the Special Court. / Syri.net
