The head of the Governing Council of Albanian Radio and Television, Leka Bungo, had this Monday many criticisms of the General Director of RTSH, Alfred Peza .

During his speech at the Media Commission , Bungo said that the KD has no authority over the appointments or dismissals made by Peza, while adding that he violated the rules regarding the functioning of the Governing Council and appointments, which according to him are in violation of the statute of RTSH .

Bungo asked the members of the Commission to make a change regarding the functioning of the KD, in order to have the possibility of vetoing the actions taken by the head of the institution. Peza himself, despite having received an invitation to be present at the Media Commission, did not appear.

Leka Bungo:  The Governing Council has no say in the dismissals, appointments, of the employees of the Albanian Radio Television. He has no right to intervene, neither to say yes nor no. Regarding the use of public funds, as in the first case, the Governing Council has the right to make decisions regarding 1% of the annual budget.

We are being asked to account for the funds. There is a problem, if you want to take it into consideration. A few months ago I asked you to help us to change the law, with this RTSH law, the Governing Council has no right to control, to make decisions, it is only a council of notaries that raises its hand for the proposals made by the general directorate.

Even when the Governing Council gives him the opportunity to do the most important thing, it is done with the proposal of the leader. KD is outside the decision-making process for everything. That is why we have sent an official letter for an amendment to the law, I am not speaking on behalf of the Council, but on behalf of Leka Bungo if this Commission, which is the marriage of the KD, takes into account only one request, since the General Director acts contrary to the law, the KD has the right to cancel it with a majority of votes.

For example, if I tell the director why you caused this, he can tell me what your job is. We have no rights. I am telling you just one fact, it is not good to say it in absentia, in a matter that is serious, it has been 8 months that the General Director has not brought the names of his staff to the KD, they all sign as directors, but they are not directors. we name them. They must bring at least two candidacies.

We have asked them to duplicate the candidacies they will bring. I told him why are you insisting on these four, you have aunts' sons, bring us four aunts' sons and don't feel bad because they are still yours.

I raised this concern with him and he told me that I will take a step back, a month has passed, the competition is not open, only the opening of the competition takes a month. Only thanks to changes can a balance come.

Here the General Director is the biggest authority after the Prime Minister, he does not need to remove or appoint. I would very kindly ask you to consider the request, to help us to be able to create a balance.

We have the same goal, to move RTSH forward. There are 146 departures for various reasons, retirement, resignation, dismissals.

46 admissions of charges have come from the Court, if only 20 win, next year's budget to pay for this is gone. This needs a solution and this comes from the law.
