The accused in the murder of former police officer Santiago Malko, Ilir Selmani, appeared again this Monday at the Special Court of Appeals (GJKKO), under strict security measures. 

The court session was accompanied by tension, and after the conclusion of the judicial review, the court announced that the verdict will be announced on July 17.

During the trial, Selmani declared his innocence, denying any involvement in the serious incident.

"I declare that I am innocent, I have nothing to do with this event," he is reported to have said.

Selmani has also accused the prosecutor of manipulating the file, calling him corrupt.

Meanwhile, the victim's mother also reacted in the courtroom, demanding Selman's punishment.

"This man killed my son, he should be sentenced to 28 years in prison or bring my son home to see him and get him out of here," she said.

The change in security measure against Selman from "prison arrest" to "house arrest" was made after the legal detention deadlines had expired.
