New details emerge from the murder of Eglant Koç, including how the perpetrator Armand Shakaj hid for 10 days after the crime in the Elbasan region.
Sources from the investigation tell A2 CNN that after eliminating his friend, the perpetrator Armand Shakaj is hiding in the Elbasan region. Shakaj, changing his appearance to avoid being recognized, is hiding in the surroundings of Elbasan, staying in hotels and apartments for daily rent, presenting false identification documents when requested.
Shakaj has only stayed in daily rentals and has not moved with his own vehicles but by taxi. It is suspected that during this period he has also hidden in the Peqin and Cërrik areas using the same method, staying in hotels and apartments for daily rent and moving by taxi.
These actions of Shakaj were later confirmed by the investigations conducted by the investigative group.
When investigators tracked down his cell phone and realized that its signal was pulsing in the Elbasan region, operations were organized to capture him, but Shakaj lost track again, leaving the Elbasan region.
Shakaj remains on the run, while the police suspect that he is being helped to hide by people close to him, with whom he also maintains contact.
On June 4, Shakaj killed his friend Eglant Koçi and then disappeared his body by throwing it on the top of Korra, 1450 meters above sea level, in the village of Cerrujë. Koçi's body was found two weeks later by the police.
