The Shkodra Court has ordered the security measure of "prison arrest" for 64-year-old Shtjefën Ziçi, suspected of murdering his wife.
The hearing was conducted under the direction of Judge Zamira Lila, while the prosecution was represented by Prosecutor Albulena Koliçi. The defendant's defense was represented by attorney Agim Martini.
During the hearing, the accused did not give any statement to the court. Meanwhile, the prosecution requested the imposition of the measure "arrest with imprisonment", a request that was accepted by the court.
On the other hand, lawyer Agim Martini requested that a psychiatric examination be conducted on his client. According to the defense, until the moment of the incident, he had been a regular family man, together with his wife they raised two children and had a normal relationship, without known conflicts, protection orders or problems as a couple.
According to the lawyer, the incident occurred under incomprehensible circumstances and for this reason an assessment of the defendant's mental state is required.
After his arrest, the 64-year-old spoke very little to the police officers. In a state of shock, he only said: "I killed my wife, what did I do?", without giving any further statements to the investigators.
