Damian Gjiknuri has reacted publicly for the first time to the claims and statements of various media figures that he was one of two government officials who participated in the meeting with traffickers in Aruba.

He declares with full responsibility that he has never been to Aruba and has never met the people alluded to anywhere, calling lawyer Arben Llangozi, the person who mentioned his name, a slanderer.

"Out of respect for public opinion, which is poisoned by such defamatory statements, I declare with full responsibility that I have never been to Aruba, have never met anywhere, and have had no connection with the persons to whom this defamer alludes."

"Due to the functions I have exercised in public life and the continuous accusations leveled against me, my name has been subjected to more detailed verification by special justice bodies," he writes.

Gjiknuri emphasizes that all these processes have confirmed the purity of his image, while the slanderers have been forced to swallow their untruths.

"I publicly challenge Arben Llangoz to publish the evidence supporting his claims. Otherwise, he must publicly retract these statements and surrender his lawyer's license. In the meantime, I have authorized my lawyer to prepare the necessary documentation to file a defamation lawsuit against Arben Llangoz," the reaction continues.

Damian Gjiknuri reveals that there have been previous trials against lawyer Arben Llangozi, but the latter has withdrawn from recourse to the court and accepted the sentence for defamation.

"However, in the role of a common paid slanderer, this person continues to publicly repeat the same allegations today. Throughout my entire career, both in the private sector and in public life, I have categorically refused to submit to this type of public extortionists, who are paid to slander and slander to be paid," he writes.

Damian Gjiknuri's reaction:

I have always been convinced that it is not worth wasting time responding to every ordinary slanderer who smears my name. Even to the public statements of citizen Arben Llangozi, who presents himself as a lawyer, I chose not to react a few days ago, believing that he would soon realize that he had confused the target.
