The Tirana Prosecution Office has charged Ervis Vata and Aida Hoxha, 2 doctors at the 'Koço Gliozheni' maternity hospital, with the death of a baby in July 2021.

According to the prosecution, the doctor who took care of the pregnancy process, as well as the doctor on duty who was ready "in violation of their professional obligations, were the decisive factor that led to the development of a dangerous birth process, which ended with the tragic loss of the life of a newborn child. The investigations against the two gynecologists began after the mother Adelina Zeqiri's denunciation.

After investigations, the Prosecution explains that the baby's death was the result of severe injuries during birth, caused by the use of forceps, a tool commonly used in difficult births, when natural birth does not progress or when it is too late for surgical intervention.
