Lezha police have announced a search for the technical director of the construction firm where 36-year-old  Anton Zefi lost his life .

The 52-year-old man with the initials ST is charged with the criminal offenses of " Violation of occupational safety regulations" and "Illegal employment" .

Anton Zefi from the village of Pllanë fell from a height at a construction site while he was working. Unfortunately, the young man died immediately at the scene.

Police announcement:

Following the preliminary information provided yesterday, regarding the accident at a building under construction in Kune, Shëngjin, resulting in the death of citizen AZ, we would like to inform you that the Crime Investigation specialists of the Lezha Police Commissariat carried out the actions in the case, referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office and declared the citizen wanted.

ST, 52 years old, resident of Lezha, for the criminal offenses "Violation of occupational safety regulations" and "Illegal employment".

This citizen was a technical manager in the firm that was carrying out the construction of the palace, where during work, it is suspected that the worker, citizen AZ, 36 years old, resident of the village of Pllanë, Lezha, accidentally lost his life.

This loss of life is clear evidence of the alarming state of occupational safety in Albania, where in many cases workers operate in minimal protective conditions. The construction sector, in particular, records a high number of fatal incidents due to the lack of control, non-implementation of legal standards and lack of responsibility by construction entities.
