The Italian newspaper La Repubblica has dedicated an article to the murder of Italian businessman Edoardo Sarchi in Tepelena, following the extradition of the perpetrator.
La Repubblica emphasizes that the businessman's murder is suspected to have been ordered.
The article also states that on the night of the incident, only Sarch, the father of two children, was hit by bullets, and none of the other people present.
However, the dynamics of the murder still remain unclear, especially considering the large amount of money involved.
Full article from La Repubblica:
The man wanted for the murder of Edoardo Sarchit, the 44-year-old construction entrepreneur who lost his life from a bullet to the head in Albania on the evening of September 26, has surrendered to the Gjirokastra police.
The suspect is Kamber Sulçaj, a 48-year-old man who has been wanted by the police since September 29 as a suspected perpetrator of the murder and who, according to investigations, had had an argument with the entrepreneur and his associates. The police are currently questioning him.
One of the hypotheses for the motive, still unconfirmed by Albanian authorities, is that of a fierce debate between four people about the car lights, which illuminated the night in the darkness of the village.
But the dynamics of the murder still remain unclear, especially considering the large amount of money, numerous weapons and equipment found in Sulçaj's house, which raise suspicions of a contract killing, a completely different scenario from that of a crime committed in the heat of the moment.
The charges against him are: "murder in other aggravating circumstances", "illegal possession and production of weapons, explosives and ammunition", and "production and sale of narcotics ".
killing
On the evening of the incident, Edoardo Sarchi, along with his partner Eqerem Braçe and the latter's two sons, had gone hunting in the Dilan area, in Tepelena, about 200 kilometers from Tirana.
According to the investigation, Sulçaj, after a heated argument, fired a loaded firearm at Sarch, his partner, and two sons — but also at their vehicles.
The bullets only caught Sarchi, a married father of two and a well-known entrepreneur in the construction sector in the Varese area, Italy. He was the owner of the company "Tegola Edilcentro", founded thirty years ago by his uncle.
Initially, police seized the two vehicles and questioned the three people who were with Sarch that evening, as well as a fourth person, for nearly 12 hours. All were later released due to lack of evidence.
rifle
Sulçaj has handed over the hunting rifle with a carved barrel, with which he is suspected of shooting at Sarch, as well as the permit to possess the weapon.
Experts from the Serious Crimes Investigation Section at the Gjirokastra Police Directorate have carried out the procedures for the request for detention in prison, which the court had ordered in absentia.
Sulçaj, a resident of the village of Mesaplik, in Vlora, is suspected of having fired exactly that hunting rifle with an engraved barrel at Sarch./ La Repubblica
