Other details have been learned regarding the arrest of 40-year-old Armando Pacani in Dubai. The Brazilian media have revealed in great detail about his life and the criminal activity of the Albanian, who until just a few days ago was a 'ghost' for the Albanian and foreign authorities.

The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) arrested Pacani in Dubai, as he was being investigated in Brazil for running a criminal group that shipped cocaine to Europe.

The arrest was made on July 29, carried out by Dubai Police, but was only reported a few days later by Interpol. In Dubai, the Albanian lived as the CEO of a metal company, building the facade of a businessman, when in fact he was negotiating tons of drugs. Pacani is married to a German woman and has been living in Brazil for a long time. From the investigations, it is estimated to have released 17 tons of 'goods' worth 3.8 billion dollars, becoming one of the biggest sellers of cocaine in Europe.  

His group shipped at least 13 shipments of cocaine from Andean countries, from the ports of Rio Grande, in Rio Grande do Sul and Itajaí, in Santa Catarina. Drugs were hidden in legal cargo containers, without the knowledge of the owners of the goods, or left on fishing vessels. One of the shipments was seized by the French navy near Sierra Leone in November 2022. The fishing boat was carrying 4.6 tons of cocaine in about 100 suitcases.

Pacani thought about everything! From the purchase of drugs, to storage, delivery to the port... he even took care of who received the "goods" in Europe. However, his action was interrupted when he was put on the wanted list during the "Hinterland" operation that took place in March last year. Pacani, in addition to his name, was also known in the "SkyECC" application by the nicknames Albanês (Albania), Forbes and Globe. 

To hide the large amounts generated by international trafficking, the criminal organization used various methods of hiding capital. The group had a kind of parallel bank to send money abroad to pay suppliers and networks of first legal entities to circulate the financial flow.

In a statement to protect the Albanian, his lawyers, Eduardo Maurício and Diego Pereira Barrios, declared that Pacani "is innocent"

" He is being persecuted by the Brazilian justice system because he is a foreign citizen. This is truly absurd and an insult to justice, " they said. 

In March of last year, the European and Brazilian authorities were on the trail of an organization that trafficked drugs of the cocaine type stretching from Brazil to Dubai. After two years of investigations, it was discovered that the criminal organization trafficked 17 tons of drugs in Europe, 12 of which were seized. At that time "la Repubblica" compared the network of Albanians with Ndrangheta, writing that they have the same characteristics.

They have the same characteristics of the 'Ndrangheta, which remains the strongest international mafia. The group was led by Armando Pacani, he is connected to a Balkan clan. The last trace of him appears in the entry register in Brazil in January 2019. Twenty months later he had already left on a flight that took him from Sao Paulo to Dubai. It disappeared. From that day he became a ghost," - writes the Italian media.
