Head of UDSH: Attack on 3 Albanians, result of "Greater Serbia" policy

The head of the Albanian Democratic Union (UDSH), Meto Zenka, has stated that the beating of three Albanian citizens today in Montenegro is the result of the "Greater Serbia" policy.

In "Review", he has shown that there are many such cases in Montenegro, for political reasons.

"We reacted immediately as soon as we found out about the incident. It is not the first time that such incidents have occurred, especially incidents directed against Albanians and Bosniaks in Montenegro. This proves that Montenegro with these new structures that have come to power, even though it is masked with a kind of false pacifism, shows its face from time to time. Serbian politics is realized through these events. They direct their electorate against the minorities in Montenegro and the Albanians", he said.

He said that for today's event, he expects to contact the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajic, to get more information and to familiarize himself with his position.

"I have to contact the prime minister to get their opinion on what happened. But from the face of the Albanians, they have experienced real violence. Only the Helsinki community has reacted in Montenegro, strongly condemning the violence. But considering that the Speaker of the Parliament (Andrija Mandić) in Montenegro is a radical against the minorities, they have not reacted. Proponents of their policies are influenced by them and often use violence against Albanians. "They cannot agree that Kosovo is a state on the rise and they are also irritated by the calls of (Prime Minister Albin) Kurti, who has given a new character to Albanian politics in the Balkans," said Zenka.

The three young Albanians were beaten by eight people dressed in military uniforms. Zenka says that there were cases when a fan was imprisoned with the Albanian flag in Budva, perhaps because of public concern with the presentation of the national symbol.

"When they are the majority and are large groups, they carry out these events. I am of the opinion that since the Orthodox Christmas is also celebrated today, they like their youth to use different uniforms, like these military uniforms of today. They use them as a symbolic force, or some kind of message", said Zenka.
