The Special Appellate Panel, KPA, has dismissed the Tirana prosecutor Elisabeta Imeraj.
According to the KPA, the control and evaluation of assets, following the asset criteria related to assets in the Aviation Field, lacks legal resources.
The loan is found in the lack of resources to repay the installments. According to the KPA, the 5-storey building of Imeraj and her ex-husband is also lacking in income.
In the analysis of the international observer, Imeraj's behavior is considered contrary to law. Making personal contacts is an unacceptable behavior.
Who is Elisabeta Imeraj
Elisabeta Imeraj is one of the most experienced prosecutors in the justice system who has faced some of the most difficult files of corruption at the political level and high level organized crime. Its successes have led to the first degree of vetting confirming her in office and giving the "green light" for all three criteria; wealth, professionalism and purity of image.
Elisabeta Imeraj, a former prosecutor in Tirana, has already investigated some of the hottest cases in the country, including the case of former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri, for which she sought the lifting of her immunity to be arrested.
The Tahiri file is not the only sensational one that Imeraj has investigated. She has investigated other sensational files such as that of Emiliano Shullazi, the file of 9 imams who have been convicted of terrorism but also the group of international drug trafficker Met Kanani, known as 'Albanian Escobar'.
Prosecutor Imeraj started working as a prosecutor in the Shkodra Judicial District Prosecutor's Office in 2004, later she was appointed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Serious Crimes Court.
Imeraj, a mother of two, graduated in law in 2001 from the Faculty of Law and then graduated from the School of Magistrates in 2004.
Vettingu
The Public Commissioner decided to appeal the confirmation in office, mainly for the remarks related to her ex-husband, but Imeraj submitted a prenuptial contract of 2007, according to which, the properties of the husband, with whom she divorced in 2019, belong to him and she is not responsible. An argument that the Independent Qualification Commission accepted as valid.
In the first confrontation with the vetting, Elisabeta Imeraj "scored" another success in the confrontation with the Independent Qualification Commission. She refuted some accusations of the international observer Theo Jacobs, who today has become the reason that the decision for the chief prosecutor of Tirana has been appealed.
The International Monitoring Operation and its representative in Albania, Theo Jacobs, have been strongly accused of fabricating evidence that was later used in the hearing against prosecutor Elisabeta Imeraj. It is about an "anonymous" letter that was sent to the IOM by a person called "Rrahim Shehu" but that the vetting later proved to be a "fictitious person". So it did not exist.
