1 kg of heroin trafficked from North Macedonia seized, two people arrested in Librazhd!

A quantity of 1 kilogram of heroin has been seized by the Elbasan Police as part of the operation codenamed "Trajectory", while two people suspected of drug trafficking have been arrested.

The investigations documented the activity of two citizens suspected of transporting heroin trafficked from North Macedonia to Albania.

The van-type vehicle in which the 32-year-old citizens, residents of Struga, and the 45-year-old, residents of Durrës, were traveling, was stopped for inspection on the Bulqizë-Librazhd road axis.

 During a thorough search, officers found a backpack hidden in the rear tire of the vehicle, containing 1 kilogram of heroin.

The investigation suggests that the narcotics were obtained by citizen LG in North Macedonia and were brought into Albanian territory through the green border. They were then handed over to citizen AB, who is suspected of selling them in Albania.

As material evidence, narcotics, a Fiat van, two mobile phones, as well as 40 thousand lek, 50 euros and 290 denars were seized.
