After searching the Peqin High Security Prison and finding phones and alcohol, the prison's disciplinary committee questioned life-sentenced prisoner Gazmend Braka, known as Gaxhai.
Sources for Anila Hoxha indicate that, during the earlier checks, Gaxha was found to have two bottles of alcohol, wine and whiskey. Today, she was questioned about the presence of this alcohol.
As journalist Anila Hoxha learns, Gaxhai stated: "It's not alcohol. Neither whiskey nor wine, but it's cranberry juice and I use it because I suffer from kidneys and I want to cleanse them."
A response from the laboratory is awaited, as the Prisons' Bureau of Investigation is investigating the alcohol, to obtain an official response.
Meanwhile, the same commission has also questioned two other convicts, on whose hands two phones were found. They have admitted that the phones were theirs, but have not said how they got them.
For weeks, prisons in Albania have been subject to raids and there have been official announcements about all of them. The latest was in the Fushë-Krujë prison last evening, where phones were found./top channel
