The attack on an Albanian bus in Germany last year shocked public opinion.

There was much speculation about the event.

But now German media are reporting that the investigation leads to Albania.

According to these media outlets, a large amount of drug money was stolen from the tour bus.

"It was a report that terrified thousands of holidaymakers: In the heart of Bavaria, on the A93 motorway in the district of Kelheim, passengers of a tourist bus were allegedly attacked and robbed.

"It has now been confirmed: The perpetrators escaped with a large sum of money, which may have come from drug dealing," writes German media outlet Mittelbayerische.

According to information from BILD, the three suspects forced a small bus with ten passengers and a driver to exit the motorway at the Aiglsbach (Bavaria) exit, using police-style light signals.

They forced the vehicle to stop in a passenger parking lot.

The robbers then got out of their car and claimed they were going to conduct a search of the vehicle.

But, according to police, the armed men demanded money and documents from the passengers.

According to police, no one was injured during the robbery.
