Intensification of measures to prevent criminal incidents, increasing security parameters during the tourist season, as well as dynamically following up on citizens' concerns.
These were the topics of the meeting called by the Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita , with the directors of local Police directorates in the regions and the directors of departments.
The focus was placed on assessing the public order and security situation, as well as determining priority tasks for the coming period.
"During the meeting, the General Director requested maximum commitment from all police structures to prevent criminal events, to uncover them in a timely manner and to follow up dynamically on any concerns addressed by citizens, emphasizing that each case must be treated with responsibility and professionalism, until the full completion of procedural and investigative actions. In addition, the Director requested increased efficiency of services to guarantee public order and safety, increased road safety parameters and increased police presence in the field, especially during the tourist season, ensuring immediate response and support for citizens and tourists in any case of need," the institution's official announcement for this meeting states.
Hita also emphasized the necessity of respecting police ethics, integrity and increasing the performance of every State Police employee.
The police chief has also paid special attention to the criminal phenomenon of drug cultivation.
"The Director requested the intensification of measures to prevent and crack down on the cultivation of narcotic plants, both in closed environments with lamps and in the field, as well as the uncompromising crackdown on the distribution of narcotics, considering this phenomenon a serious threat to public safety and the future of young people. The Director General ordered the continuation of the intensive crackdown on illegal possession of weapons, the capture of wanted persons, the crackdown on illegal gambling, the fight against environmental crimes, as well as the increase in results in every direction of police activity," it is further emphasized.
Hita also called for maximum commitment to identifying and arresting the perpetrators of every arson case, emphasizing that protecting the lives of citizens, property and the environment remains a priority for the State Police.
At the end of the meeting, the Director General requested that the heads of local directorates and heads of police stations be personally in charge of the services, to increase their presence on the ground where there are problems, to exercise effective direction and management of the structures they lead, as well as to strengthen cooperation with all law enforcement agencies and responsible institutions, in order to guarantee public order and security throughout the country.
