Wanted in Austria for drug trafficking, 29-year-old from North Macedonia

A 29-year-old man from North Macedonia has been arrested by the border police in Qafë-Thane, after he was wanted by Austria on suspicion of drug trafficking. 

"As a result of detailed controls and verifications at entry/exit, with the objective of cracking down on illegalities at the border, as well as detaining wanted citizens who attempt to move illegally to evade criminal liability, the Border Police services of Qafë Thana detained Macedonian citizen MG, 29 years old, resident of Veleshtë, North Macedonia," the police said.

"From the verifications carried out and from the information exchanged with Austrian partners, through Interpol Tirana, it resulted that he was internationally wanted by Interpol Vienna, Austria as a suspect for committing the criminal offense of "Drug Trafficking". Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with its counterparts in Austria, is continuing the procedures for the extradition of the 29-year-old."
