Effective Police Station No. 4, Tirana, already suspended from duty, Dilaver Velo, the father of Alban Velo, arrested for the murder of Edmond Papa on December 16, 2022, will be investigated by the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana.

The prosecution institution will carry out verifications for the officer of the police station no. 4, whether he knew about his son's activity or not, and whether he facilitated the conditions to leave the country after the murder.

In addition to the Police Supervision Agency, which is conducting administrative investigations against the already suspended officer, the capital prosecutor's office will conduct investigative actions on the role he played in his son's criminal activity.

Also, according to OraNews, the prosecution will conduct an in-depth investigation into the source of income of the Velo family, where Albano, suspected of being the organizer of the Pope, is seen on social networks, publishing photos with large sums of money.

The 30-year-old, already accused of premeditated murder, has denied the charges before the investigative team. As an alibi, to deny the accusations of the prosecutor's office that he kept the Pope under surveillance, the young man stated that he had come to our country two days before the assassination, after having been in Italy.

Referring to the TIMS system, Albano Velo left the territory on December 10, where he went to Florence.

He stayed in the neighboring country for only 4 days, after entering Albania on December 14, from Rinas airport.

But, in addition to the security cameras that overturn the alibi of the young man, another strong piece of evidence for the prosecution is the cell phones. Their analysis shows that from 14:00 until 16:35, when the incident happened, the young man was in the Selita area. 

Albano Velo was arrested on January 6, 2023 in Tirana as an accomplice in the murder of businessman Edomand Papa.
