Three Albanians who raped a young girl in Bedford, Great Britain, were sentenced by the court to 57 years in prison. The serious event happened on September 4 last year. The 23-year-old had gone out with her friend to enjoy her first night out since the lifting of Covid restrictions. She separated from her friend and was leaving for home, when 31-year-old Genti Hyka, who had picketed her while they were inside the club, took her to a car and took her to an address in the center of town where he raped her. .
His two accomplices, Vullnet Haka, 33, and Ibrahim Bezati, 36, then joined him and also raped the young woman. During the serious incident, the 23-year-old woman was beaten and forced by the three Albanians to take cocaine.
As the DailyMail reports, while handing down the sentence, Judge Steven Evans said they had treated the young woman in the most inhumane way possible.
The 23-year-old managed to escape from the apartment in the morning and was found in a serious condition by a passerby. While giving her evidence before the court, she said that she did not remember the moment when she had left the club, as she had been in a drunken state. "I begged them to let me go. I was confused and scared," she said.
Genti Hyka was sentenced to 26 years in prison for kidnapping, illegal deprivation of liberty and rape.
Vullnet Haka and Ibrahim Bezati were convicted on charges of illegal deprivation of liberty and rape. The court sentenced Haka to 14 years in prison and Bezat to 17 years in prison.
Before the court, Hyka claimed that when they went home, she had agreed to have sex . "She never cried when she was with me. I haven't done it. I am not a rapist," he said. The 31-year-old denied having spoken Albanian with the other two people and laughing with the young woman.
After handing down the sentences, the judge said that Hyka probably raped the 23-year-old before the other two Albanians went. “ The moment they arrived, they forced him to take cocaine and drink alcohol in order to comply. They created an atmosphere of fear and submission. They slapped him and forced him to take cocaine. There was a high degree of humiliation."
While detective Hannah Latton said: "This was a very serious case where the victim was targeted by these men, taken to a property where she was forcibly held and repeatedly raped."
"Fortunately, such incidents are extremely rare, but the conclusion should serve as a kind of reassurance for anyone who has gone through a trauma from rape, or serious sexual assault. We will believe you and will do everything we can to bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice."
"The victim showed great courage by confronting her aggressors in the courtroom, although they had the audacity to deny the allegations, making the entire incident more difficult for her and causing her to relive the incident during the trial. Her testimony was essential to ensure that these people stay behind bars for a considerable time," said the detective, among other things.
