The Constitutional Court has notified SPAK and Erion Veliaj's lawyers to file their submissions as parties in the case where the mayor of Tirana is seeking the declaration of the security measure "prison arrest" as unconstitutional by February 27.

Top Channel journalist Anila Hoxha reports that according to unofficial sources, the Constitutional Court's request was addressed to the parties in writing by the Constitutional Court, which last week announced the mayor's request would be passed to a plenary session.

The mayor, along with 29 others, has already been put on trial at the end of a 4-month preliminary hearing./ TCH
