The Constitutional Court has ruled on the request of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, regarding the three lower court decisions on the house arrest measure, concluding that the duration of this measure was excessive.

The decision was rendered without the presence of the parties.

The issue is related to the position taken by Berisha's lawyers during the bimonthly reporting sessions, where they continuously opposed SPAK's request, which insisted on the continuation of the house arrest measure.

In January 2025, the house arrest measure against the former prime minister was changed to "compulsory appearance", a decision that now also finds support in the assessment of the Constitutional Court.
