The Vlora border police manage to prevent a suspected case of narcotics trafficking.

After receiving information about a suspicious vehicle that could be making illegal movements, coming from Italy and then leaving again towards the neighboring country, checks were launched throughout the area.

During the checks, the border police found over 3,000 liters of fuel on the island of Sazan, which could have been used by the watercraft suspected of carrying narcotics.

After spotting the case, the border guard called all watercraft drivers to report the location of their vehicles, placing them in a registry that had been missing for years.

Despite the fact that the vessel was not captured and the case remained a pending case, investigations have already begun into the persons who took the fuel to the island of Sazan, as well as the motive for sending the substance to Sazan.

According to police sources, the incident occurred 4 days ago.
