The large Italian newspaper Il Messaggero has devoted an article to what it calls the "other side" of touristic Albania, apart from the "low cost" one.
The newspaper narrates the testimonies of Italian tourists, who according to the article are numerous and have been disappointed by Albania, especially what they call the "Maldives of Europe", Ksamili.
According to them, in the coastal areas of Albania there is "zero parking, the sunbeds are attached to each other, the prices are high, and it is paid exclusively in Lek".
Another Italian tourist says that on the beach "Pulëbardha" they asked him 25 euros for a sunbed, if he eats lunch at the restaurant located there, if not, he has to pay 30 euros.
"Restaurant prices are generally cheaper than in Italy, but in Ksamil a coffee costs 4.50 euros, a gazebo for three people 50 euros and can go up to 200 euros," says the Italian newspaper.
"Sponsored everywhere on TikTok like Miami. But the reality is horror, dirty, unbuilt roads, a chaos", says another Italian tourist.
