New details and images of some of the equipment that were purchased as part of the abusive tender at the Agricultural University of Kamza, for which 4 officials were arrested today, have been revealed.

The police arrested Ali Rasha, Ahmet Mejdani, Tahir Ballgjini and Rushit Sunan, after the Prosecutor's Office accuses them of abusing a tender worth 10.5 million ALL.

According to News24, one of the devices that was registered as purchased above the market price, in the Prosecution's file, turns out to be a Blender.

The normal cost of this electrical household appliance in the market would be no more than 30,000 new lek, but according to the investigation, it turns out that the papers were "forged" by four UBT employees, buying it for 276,000 new lek.

Meanwhile, another piece of equipment purchased above the real market value is a "Beko" brand refrigerator with freezer, which costs 30,000 new alleks, but in UBT it was bought at the record figure of 108,800 new alleks.

Also in the list of extra services above the limits, it can be easily understood that UBT employees have exceeded any kind of limit and rate in the purchases they have made, almost doubling the value of each device.

It also includes the name of the Rector and the head of finance who signed the list, but who are not related to the service where the abuse was committed, since everything happened in the sector where the academic staff is not included.

This detail has been clarified in the statement to the media by the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana, which underlines that the director of the Didactic Farm at UBT, Ali Rasha, has often used the name of the rector in conversations with the person who filed the report on the case, as a form of defense in the scheme of financial abuse.

"According to the entry form in the warehouse, the value of the goods was 10.5 million. The informant in good faith signed the entry slip and stated that the goods for the amount of ALL 3.7 million were never entered into the warehouse and from this amount, the informant, in good faith, signed an exit slip for the amount of ALL 1,958,500. The exit for this value of goods, according to the complainant, was made under the constant pressure of the AR citizen. From the end of December 2021, the complainant has tried many times to communicate with AR and other persons, including the Rector of the Agricultural University Kamëz, the name of which, according to the complainant, was often used by AR, as a defense for the situation created and for the lack of goods in the warehouse, for the fictitious entry and exit of the goods", it is underlined in the statement of the Prosecutor's Office.

But, despite this, the rector of the Agricultural University and the economic operator were interrogated to give explanations for their involvement in this matter.
