The weather has taken a sudden turn after a few days of sunshine and hot and sunny. At noon today, heavy rain and hail have covered part of the southeast of the country.

As a result of the hail, the crops were damaged, mainly in the Pojan administrative unit of Maliq municipality. The greatest damage was caused in the villages of Pendavinj, Rov and Rrembec and a part of the lands of the villages of Pojan and Kreshpanj.

The Mayor of Maliq, Gëzim Topçiu, has announced that the institution he leads has set up a working group with agricultural specialists to verify the damage caused by the hail. After the verification, the detailed information will be sent to the regional directorate of agriculture in Korça, in order to compensate the farmers from the damages caused.
