Marsel Hysa , the person you see in the photo provided by newsbomb.al, is the former municipal policeman from Memaliaj , who yesterday morning threw himself from the third floor of the Trauma Hospital, dying on the spot.

Around 05:30 yesterday morning, February 25, Marsel Hysa jumped from the window of the room where he was being treated at the Trauma Hospital in Tirana and as a result of the injuries he received, he died.

The day before he committed the extreme act, he had injured himself with a knife in Tepelena and was urgently brought to the capital, for more specialized treatment.

An investigative group has been set up by the Tirana Police and is working to fully clarify the circumstances of the event. Previously, it was announced that the 47-year-old suffered from mental health problems, and according to the declarations of family members, he tried to commit suicide before.

The dead body of Marsel Hysa was taken by the family members and today he was escorted to his last residence, in his town in Memaliaj.

Until the summer of 2023, the victim was working in the Municipality of Memaliaj, as a municipal policeman.

Police notification:

On 25.02.2024, around 05:30, it is suspected that he committed suicide from the 3rd floor of the Trauma Hospital, citizen MH, 47 years old, who died as a result of the injuries he received.

This citizen presented himself for medical help at the hospital on 24.02.2024, around 12:00, after he injured himself with a knife-cutting tool, in Tepelena.

The 47-year-old suffered from mental health problems, and according to family members, he tried to commit suicide before. The investigative team is working to clarify the circumstances of the event.
