The lawyer of the 32-year-old arrested for the murder of Nevila Pjetri speaks

"I am innocent." This is what Daniele Bedini, a 32-year-old Italian arrested as a suspect for the murder of Albanian Nevila Pjetri, stated to the police. According to what the Italian media write, the 32-year-old, who is learned to have worked in his family's carpentry, has stated that he has nothing to do with the events.

His lawyer, Rinaldo Reboa, quoted by Italian media said:

"The only element that led investigators to stop my client is the denunciation of the theft of the pistol owned by Daniele Bedini's father, formalized a few days before the killings."

"My client's father had denounced the theft of the weapon he had with a permit, which has not yet been found and which at the moment is only compatible with the cartridges found near the bodies. "The fact that my client also has a criminal record has made the investigations limited only to him", added the lawyer.

Italian authorities announced this Tuesday morning the arrest of the 32-year-old Italian as the main suspect in the murder of Albanian prostitute Nevila Pjetri.

He has a criminal record for robbery. The lifeless body of the 35-year-old, who was physically assaulted and then executed with two pistol bullets to the head, was found lying on the bed of the Parmignola River in Marinella di Sarzana, in the early hours of Sunday.

The night before, 3 kilometers from the scene, authorities discovered another body. It was Carlo Bertolotti, 43, a transgender prostitute on the outskirts of Sarzana.

Investigators suspect that Daniele Bedini is still behind this second murder, which he allegedly committed to hide the first. Neighboring media write that Carlo Bertolotti may have witnessed the moment when Nevila Peter got into the author's car to be found later dead.
