Mario Çela, brother of Suel Çela, is extradited from Belgium to Tirana tonight

Mario Çela, the brother of Suel Çela who was arrested in November 2024 by Belgian authorities, is expected to arrive in Tirana from Belgium tonight.

He is the brother of Suel Çela, who continues to be a wanted person by Albanian justice.

According to SPAK, Suel Çela has been identified as the leader of an organization responsible for managing and coordinating criminal activities, including murders, international drug trafficking, committing corrupt acts, and organizing money laundering schemes.

Meanwhile, some of the members with key roles were an operational part of the organization, engaged in the planning and execution of serious criminal offenses, including premeditated murder and narcotics trafficking.

From the investigations, SPAK has documented that this organization attempted to traffic large quantities of cocaine from Latin America to Europe.

According to SPAK, there was an attempt to traffic approximately 930 kg of cocaine from Ecuador to Europe in December 2020. There was also an attempt to traffic 466 kg of cocaine from Ecuador to the Netherlands in January 2021.

Upon arrival in Albania, Mario Çela is expected to face legal proceedings for the charges against him in the context of this investigation.
