A gunshot wound was registered at noon today in the area of ​​the "Community of Paris" in Tirana, where one person was injured as a result. The author is citizen Erjon Goxhara, with effective police duties, while the target of the assassination was 45-year-old Lorenc Kosta.

It is learned that Goxhara fired several times with a firearm at Kosta, while the latter was hit by at least two bullets in the leg, leaving him injured. The 45-year-old man was urgently transported to the Trauma hospital, where he is under the care of doctors.

Sources indicate that Lorenc Kosta was walking near a market at the Paris Commune roundabout when he was shot.

The author, Erjon Goxhara, was in a "Mitsubishi" type vehicle and wearing a red T-shirt at the moment when he committed the assassination and after the crime he quickly left in the direction of the accused.

According to Tirana Police, the crime happened for weak motives.

 From the preliminary investigations, it is learned that it is suspected that Lorenc Kosta had harassed the partner of the effective Erjon Goxhara and then the latter undertook the extreme act by assassinating her with a firearm.

The injured Lorenc Kosta and the officer's partner are known to have worked at the Energy Regulatory Authority.

Meanwhile, the head of the Tirana Police, Tonin Vocaj, has called on the border police officer Erion Goxharaj to surrender. Vocaj was at the scene where the officer wounded the 45-year-old with a weapon and gave details about the motives and condition of the injured.

He said that he communicated with the police officer and that he is in a serious psychological condition, while according to Vocaj, the injured person is not in danger of life.

"Around 2:00 p.m., on the Tish Daija street, an EG citizen, a police officer in the structures for Migration in Tirana, injured a 45-year-old man, who is in the hospital under the care of the vehicles. The police are carrying out the necessary investigative actions. We are working to to locate and catch the perpetrator of this incident.
