The election of the new head of the Constitutional Court has failed in the first round. 

In today's meeting of judges of the Constitutional Court, none of the three candidates in the race received the legal majority of at least 5 votes.

The second round of voting is set to take place on February 17, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. the three candidates in the race are Fiona Papajorgji, Marjana Semini and Holta Zaçaj.

Today, on February 15, 2023, the Meeting of Judges of the Constitutional Court, in accordance with the legal provisions, held the session for the election of the new President of the Constitutional Court.

After the presentation of the platforms and visions of the candidates, Fiona Papajorgji, Marjana Semini and Holta Zaçaj, the first round of voting continued. At the end of this process, none of the candidates received a legal majority of at least 5 votes.

The meeting of judges of the Constitutional Court has decided to hold the second round of voting on February 17, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
