DP MP Gazment Bardhi stated in Log that there will soon be an indictment against Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.

Bardhi said that his complaint against the Deputy Prime Minister, filed with SPAK, includes violations of equality in tenders and corruption of senior officials.

"Corruption has a statute of limitations twice as long as the criminal offense of violating equality, which was time-barred for the possibility of prosecuting in March 2026, and this is why the prosecution has prosecuted within the legal deadlines," said Bardhi.

Asked whether there should have been a detention measure for Deputy Prime Minister Balluku, who has been taken into custody by SPAK, the head of the DP parliamentary group said that this should have happened since all the criteria exist for the prosecutor in the case to make this decision, because according to him, Balluku today has the political and executive power to intimidate witnesses, to flee.

"The lady is under investigation, they are not finished, I am taking her as a defendant for violating equality in tenders. She is being investigated for other criminal offenses."

The complaint I filed involves violation of equality in tenders and corruption of senior officials. Corruption has a statute of limitations twice as long as the criminal offense of violation of equality, which was statute-barred in March 2026, and that is why the prosecution pursued the criminal case within the legal deadlines.

We expect that there will be charges against Ms. Balluku, as the facts have been filed, for corruption. SPAK's standard was that even when she only raised the charge of violating equality in the tender, she took a prohibiting measure, her subordinate, the chairman of the public prosecutions commission, was taken as a defendant for the criminal offense and SPAK, through the court, took the measure of prohibiting him from exercising his function.

"In my judgment, a security measure should have been taken against Ms. Balluku, since today she has the political and executive power to intimidate witnesses, to flee, all the criteria for the prosecutor to exercise the right to a security measure, in the case of Balluku ," said Bardhi.
