25-year-old arrested for starting fire in Tërbac, flames burn large areas

Police have arrested 25-year-old Aderjan Bojkoj, suspected of being the perpetrator of the fire that started in the place called "Lugu i Thatë", in the village of Tërbac.

The flames then spread to the territory of the village of Vranisht, burning a large area of ​​cultivated land, as well as wild and forest vegetation.

"The services of the Himara Police Commissariat, immediately after the announcement that on 26.08.2026, in the place called "Lugu i Thatë", in the village of Tërbac, a fire had broken out and land was burning, immediately went to the scene. In addition to supporting the firefighting forces in dealing with the situation and bringing the flames under control, the police structures immediately launched investigative actions to determine the cause of the fire and identify the suspected perpetrator.

As a result of the spread of the flames, the fire has also included the territory of the village of Vranisht, burning a large area of ​​planted land, as well as wild and forest vegetation. Following the in-depth investigative actions carried out for the full legal documentation of the event, the collection and administration of material evidence and necessary information, it was possible to identify the suspected perpetrator of the arson, citizen AB, 25 years old, resident of the village of Tërbaç. At the end of the investigative actions, his arrest was made”, the Police announced.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Vlora, for the criminal offense of “Destruction by fire of forests and forest environment”, for further actions.
