Former police officer Uljan Shpataraku has appeared in the Special Court for security measures. He was arrested on August 26 in Durrës, driving an Audi Rs2 car, worth almost 100 thousand euros, which was seized, with the businessman Ergys Agasi, a passenger wanted by SPAK, as a passenger, who was arrested and will face justice for a series of charges in the "AKSHI" file.
This Saturday, Shpataraku appears before the black squads in the Special Court, on the charge of "supporting the perpetrator of the crime". It remains to be seen whether SPAK will request a security measure of arrest against him, or whether he will be investigated at liberty, for accompanying Ergys Agas in the car. It also remains to be seen whether SPAK will make Shpataraku part of Ergys Agas's criminal group.
During searches at the apartment of the former senior police official, known as the right-hand man of the former Police Director, Ilir Proda, the police found an arsenal of weapons, 3 pistols, 2 shotguns and 2 rifles, which have been seized.
Uljan Shpataraku was wanted by the police for a trivial incident with the staff of a hotel where he was staying for vacation this summer in Dhërmi, but his capture, alongside the much-wanted SPAK suspect, was a surprise.
Before the Dhërmi episode when he threatened the staff because he didn't like the service, Police Chief Skënder Hita dismissed Shpataraku from duty after a long period of not showing up for work.
There are also indications that Uljan Shpataraku had a criminal record in the past abroad, which he did not declare when he joined the blue uniforms, but which requires an in-depth investigation by the authorities.
Just a day ago, in a separate hearing from Shpatark, the GJKKO remanded businessman Ergys Agasi in custody. He was arrested after 8 months on the run and in the hearing denied the 7 serious charges brought by SPAK, claiming that he has never benefited from public tenders nor been part of criminal groups.
