Police have placed 25-year-old Orgest Mehi alias Orgest Shehaj in handcuffs, who is considered a socially dangerous person.

The 23-year-old was located and arrested in Fushë Kuqe, Kurbin, where he also resides.

In December 2023, Orgest Mehi endangered the lives of police officers by speeding away in a vehicle carrying a high-precision sniper rifle, which was allegedly purchased to commit murder, the police reported.

"On 18.12.2023, in Fushë Kuqe, citizen OM alias O. Sh. did not obey the order of the police officers on duty to stop the vehicle, and risked their lives by speeding away in the vehicle. Later, during the search of the vehicle that this citizen had abandoned in the village of Gurëz, the police services found and seized a high-precision sniper firearm and a cartridge in the chamber, as well as a bag of combat ammunition for this weapon," the police announced.

The Lezha Court, with the decision dated February 9, 2024, has imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on him, for the criminal offenses of "Providing conditions and means to commit murder", committed in collaboration, "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Disobedience to the order of a police officer".

Following the continuous work to locate and apprehend wanted citizens, the services of the Kurbin Police Commissariat, based on information obtained through operational channels, organized and finalized the coded operation "Focus", during which the citizen was located, apprehended and put in handcuffs:

OM alias O. Sh., 25 years old, resident of Fushë Kuqe, Kurbin.

This citizen was declared wanted after the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Lezha, with the decision dated 09.02.2024, assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Providing conditions and means to commit murder", committed in collaboration, "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Disobedience to the order of a police officer".
