The appeal rejected the claims of Fredi Beleri to declare illegal the wiretapping that was carried out against him the day before the local elections for the Municipality of Himara.
Judge Florjan Kalaja approved as legal the decision of the First Instance that makes valid the investigative actions of the Prosecutor's Office of Vlora against Beler.
The wiretapping of Beler, as well as the red-handed seizure of a lot of money and the list of votes for which they were to be paid, are the strong evidence of the prosecution body.
Beleri has been behind bars since May 12 on charges of election corruption.
Beler's arrest has caused a strong reaction from the Greek state, which claims a violation of human rights, but the Albanian authorities have responded by declaring that the case belongs entirely to the new justice system.
