A 47-year-old man has been criminally prosecuted by the police after being caught with an undeclared amount of money while leaving Albania in Kakavija.

"He attempted to leave Albania with 16,110 euros, 62,200 lek and 860 pounds, undeclared, the 47-year-old is being prosecuted."

As a result of the increased vigilance of the Border Police services, with the aim of preventing and combating crimes at the border, at the exit from Albania, a search was carried out in the bag of citizen NL, where 16,110 euros, 62,200 lekë and 860 pounds were found, which this citizen had not declared in accordance with the law.

Following the procedural actions in the case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings were initiated in a free state for the criminal offense of "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border", for citizen NL, 47 years old, resident of Shkodra. The amount of money was seized as material evidence.

"The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra, for further action," the police announced.
