Ambassador Kim calls on the authorities: Apply laws and regulations fairly and equitably

The US ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim, hopes that all Albanian citizens will exercise their basic democratic right through voting.

Through a post on Instagram, where she shared the photo of her "baby" as an observer in the May 14 elections in the country, she says that it is essential to respect the laws for the elections, which includes the buying and selling of votes.

Ambassador Kim has called on the authorities to apply the rules and laws fairly and equally.

Yuri Kim: We hope that all citizens of Albania will exercise their basic democratic right to express their will through free and fair elections. It is essential that everyone respects election laws as well as international norms, including the prohibition of vote buying or selling. We call on the authorities to apply all laws and regulations fairly and equitably. Embassy officials are joining other international institutions in observing elections across the country.
