Serious accident on the Lushnje-Berat axis, pedestrian dies

An accident occurred today on the Lushnje-Berat road, in the village of Fier-Shegan, where a vehicle hit a 60-year-old pedestrian, with the initials EP.

Despite rapid transportation by ambulance to the Lushnja hospital, the victim was unable to survive his injuries.

“At around 18:50, on the 'Berat-Lushnjë' road axis, citizen EK, 34 years old, while driving his vehicle, hit a pedestrian, citizen EP, around 60 years old, who died in hospital.

"The driver of the vehicle, citizen EK, has been escorted to the Police Station for further procedural actions," the police informed after the accident.

Police are at the scene to document the incident, while the driver of the vehicle, a 34-year-old man with the initials EK, has been detained.

Both were residents of the village of Fier-Shegan.
